Your health data
stays yours.
Vero is built on a simple principle: your most personal data belongs to you and only you.
The short version: Vero reads your health data locally on your device, never stores it on servers, never shares it with anyone, and never uses it for advertising. That’s it.
Full Policy
Data Collection
Vero reads health data — including heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), sleep analysis, and workout records — from Apple HealthKit. This data is accessed locally on your device and is never transmitted to external servers or third parties.
Vero also collects profile information you enter directly — including age, biological sex, and fitness level — which is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. This information never leaves your device.
Vero is not a medical device. Readiness scores, recovery metrics, and training recommendations are provided for informational and motivational purposes only and do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making decisions based on health data.
Data Storage
All data processing occurs entirely on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. Vero has no backend servers, no user accounts, and no analytics. Your health information and profile data never leave your iPhone. Any derived data (such as your calculated Readiness Score) is stored locally and remains exclusively under your control.
For completeness: the only value Vero stores outside your phone is a single first-install date, saved in your own private iCloud database and your device’s secure Keychain. It exists to preserve founding-member pricing and prevent free-trial resets. It contains no health information, and we cannot read it. Apple’s private-database design means it is accessible only to you.
Third Parties
Vero does not share your data with any third parties, advertisers, or analytics services. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or health information. No analytics SDKs, tracking frameworks, or advertising networks are embedded in the app.
In accordance with Apple’s HealthKit guidelines, Vero will never use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or sale to data brokers under any circumstances.
Permissions
Vero requests read-only access to Apple HealthKit for the following data types: Heart Rate, Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Resting and Sleeping Heart Rate, Sleep Analysis and Stages, Workouts, Workout Routes (GPS), Active Energy, Exercise Time, Step Count, Walking, Running, and Cycling Distances, VO₂ Max, Blood Oxygen (SpO₂), Respiratory Rate, Wrist Temperature, Walking Gait metrics (speed, step length, steadiness), Running Form metrics (power, ground contact time, stride length, vertical oscillation), and Time in Daylight. Every type is used only to compute your on-device scores and views. Vero never requests write access.
One note on maps: workout routes are read only to draw the map of your run, ride, or hike. The map is rendered on your device with Apple Maps, which loads Apple map tiles for the route’s area, exactly as any maps app does. Vero never uploads the route itself.
You can revoke access at any time through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Vero. Revoking access will limit the app’s ability to calculate scores but will not delete any existing Health data.
Data Retention & Deletion
Vero keeps your computed scores and history in your device’s local storage to power trends, personal records, and long-term insights. This history never leaves your device and is kept until you delete it, because your trends get more useful with time.
To delete all Vero data, use Settings → Delete All Data inside the app (removes every score, record, and baseline), or delete the app from your iPhone. The first-install date described above remains in your Keychain and private iCloud so trial and pricing status cannot be reset; it contains no health information.
Like all app data, Vero’s local history is included in your device backups. iCloud backups are always encrypted. If you make local computer backups, we recommend turning on backup encryption in Finder or iTunes so your health history stays protected there too.
Age Requirement
Vero is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement. Vero is not directed at minors and we do not knowingly collect any data from persons under 18. Because all data stays on-device and we collect no personal information on our servers, Vero does not present special risks in this regard, but parental guidance is advised for younger users.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through an in-app notice. Continued use of Vero after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
